Help Replace Our Trees

30,000 trees were lost on October 12, 2006…

But only 11,000 have been replaced.

Plant a tree in your name -

Time is running out for you to join the list of generous donors to The Buffalo News Green Leaf campaign. Thanks to more than 700 of your friends and neighbors, the Green Leaf campaign has already raised funds to plant 1,400 trees.

Each tree (approximately 10 to 15 feet high) costs $60 to purchase and plant. Your contribution of just $30 will help plant a tree in our community, ensuring that more remaining scars from the storm will be erased.

For each donation, your name (or the name of the loved one you designate) will appear in The Buffalo News on a special recognition page as our way of saying “thank you”.

Add your name to the list – your contribution will have a lasting impact on the landscape of Western New York. Our goal is to raise money to plant 3,800 trees, to reinvigorate fundraising efforts and to bring the Re-Tree plan to its halfway point.
