Below are some of the projects The News was involved in during 2007 and are continuing in 2008. In some cases, we recognized a need in Western New York
and helped formulate a plan to address it. In other instances, organizations
or individuals came to us with problems or needs, and we helped them
with a new approach. This is above and beyond the many institutions to
which The News makes direct cash contributions. We support programs
that provide the greatest amount of good for the greatest number of people,
especially for families and people with special needs.
More than 12,000 Western New York families received food, clothing and toys through this annual show of good will. Because The News pays for all expenses, every dollar donated went directly to caring for the needy. The success of this enormous effort is also made possible through the assistance of The United Way of Buffalo and Erie County. To make a donation or learn more about News Neediest, click here. ^top
