How NiE Works:
The Buffalo News discounts the cost of a newspaper when used for educational purposes by as much as 70% off the single copy rate. Full and partial sponsorships from local businesses and our vacation donation subscribers are available for schools where little or no funding is available. In an effort to stretch our sponsor dollars to cover as many schools as possible we encourage those that can, to contribute even a small amount to the cost of their subscription. PTO's are often willing to contribute to the cost of this valuable resource.
Each morning, prior to 8:00 a.m., drivers deliver The Buffalo News to schools. Newspapers are left at the loading dock or protected area and in bundles. The building and grounds keepers bring the papers into the school; usually the office or library (or other predetermined location), and teachers pick up their papers from there. Teaching materials are mailed separately.
